U.S. Competitors Coming to Canada

Dogs under the age of six months who enter into Canada may not be permitted to return to the United States. Upon reentry into the United States when travelling with dogs, you will be required to fill out the CDC import form. All dogs entering the United States from Canada must be microchipped. It is the responsibility of exhibitors to ensure that all import and export requirements are met. This information may not be current. Please follow federal and provincial or state official guidelines for the most accurate information.

You will need a current passport.

Bringing U.S. Dog Food

Travellers may bring into Canada a personal import of pet food (limit of 20 kg), if the import meets all of the following requirements:

the pet food or product must be of United States origin and be commercially packaged
the pet food or product must be in the possession of the traveller at the time of entry from the U.S.
the animal that will eat the imported product must accompany the traveller at the time of entry
the imported product is fed only to the animal that accompanied the traveller into Canada
