PWDCC Member Breeder Litters
The following PWDCC breeders support PWDCC Rescue and health testing recommendations of all breeding animals. The PWDCC provides this list as an information service only and does not endorse, or recommend any breeders. It is the buyer’s responsibility to research each breeder and his/her dogs for sale as there are a wide variety of temperament and breeding goals within our PWD breeding community. The following litters listed have, as shown below, done the recommended health tests. And have agreed to comply with the PWDCC Code of Ethics.
All litters from the breeders participating in this program must be posted on this webpage. Not all litters will have availability, see the check box indicating this. You can contact these breeders for future litters planned.
Ask for health documentation and reference our site for a complete list of health tests (recommended tests include final OFA Hip certification [Elbow evaluation optional]; Eyes: annual OFA CAER [Orthopedic Foundation for Animals Eye Certification Registry]; Optimal Selection for prcd-PRA, EOPRA, GM-1 for Storage Disease, and Improper Coat testing; UPenn testing for Juvenile Dilated Cardiomyopathy and Microphthalmia testing*) and appropriate pass/normal or carrier results. Health testing however, has been confirmed on both the sire and dam on all litters/puppies advertised for placement on this site.
Each breeding pair must have final hip certification, annual CAER certification. One of each breeding pair must be tested for prcd-PRA, EOPRA, GM-1 and IC, JDCM and Microphthalmia Syndrome with a clear/normal rating. (A clear/normal can be bred to an unknown or carrier and no offspring will be affected.)
*effective April 15, 2020, testing must be in place for September 1, 2020.
Note: CAER is deferred. Test must have been done in 2019 or 2020 previous to Covid 19 shutdown if breeding a bitch/stud dog before December 2020. Ophthalmologists were not and are still not available to provide the test.
